Former County Resident Dies

Charles G. Weirauch, 65, of Duluth, a former resident of Erie township, died at a Duluth hospital on Tuesday, May 3.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 6, at the Johnson Mortuary in Duluth, with Rev. Lyndahl, a Lutheran pastor, officiating. Burial was at Bethany Cemetery, Duluth.

Mr. Weirauch was born in Eire Township on June 11, 1900 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weirauch. He had been a resident of Duluth for the past 30 years and was employed as a millwright with the Duluth Works of the United States Steel Corporation.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha; a step-son, Raymond Mattila and a step-daughter, Mrs. Paul Kaneski, both of Duluth; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

There are also a brother, Paul of Brainerd; and six sisters - Mrs. Ann Schultz and Mrs. Arthur (Tina) Snyder, both of Detroit Lakes; Mrs. Bertha Conklin of Bend, Oregon; Mrs. Charles (Grace) Michel of Bismarck, N. D.; Mrs. Dora Widdows of Salem, Oregon; and Mrs. Meta L. Myers of Portland, Oregon.

Attending the funeral from this area were Mrs. Ann Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Snyder, all of Detroit Lakes; Mr. and Mrs. Chas Michel of Bismarck and C. Ray Michel of Minneapolis.
