Louisa A. Carlton was born as the daughter of Aaron Garner Carlton and Mary Louise Buzbee in AL in 1855. Her family move to AR by the late 1860s and she married John W. McCarty there on 7 Mar 1872. Several of their children were born in AR before this family came to IT where more children were born. They lived out their lives there and are buried in the Klondike Cemetery.

Mrs. L.A. Carlton McCarty was born November 25, 1855 and passed away May 31, 1926 at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 6 days.

Miss Carlton married Mr. John W. McCarty (1854-1929) on March 7, 1872 and to them were born nine children, two boys and seven girls, six of which are yet living.

Mrs. McCarty has been a faithful member of the Baptist church for over fifty years. She was good and kind to each and everyone. She will be greatly missed.

May God's blessings rest upon her husand and children.

Both Mr. John W. McCarty and Mrs. L.A. McCarty are buried at the Klondike Cemetery.

Many descendants of the this McCarty family are found in the Garvin Co., Ok area though other moved on to others parts of OK and other states.

Recent DNA testing is indicating that the oldest proven ancestor of this Carlton line was an Edward Carlton and wife Nancy (AKA Solomon or Watts) Wall. Edward is likely son of James Carlton b. about 1745 King and Queen, VA and d. 1787 in NC with name of wife Unknown.
