Edward T. Pate, 66, died April 10th in Currumbin, Queensland, Australia. Services were held in Tugun, Queensland on April 14. He was a veteran of World War II. He was formerly of Hawkinsville and was a prisoner of war and he received the Purple Heart, Congressional Medal of Honor (incorrect: he did not receive this award) and Silver Star.
He is survived by one son: Cary Pate, Panama City, Fla.; one sister: Mrs. Virginia Yarbrough, Lyons and two grandsons.
His remains will be returned to the U.S."
