SHREVEPORT, LA- Memory Jo Wallace Adams was born July 2, 1925, and passed away peacefully at the Glen Retirement System, Shreveport, Louisiana, on October 7, 2014. Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Couch Chapel, Shreveport, Louisiana, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014. The Rev. Dr. Carl Rhoads will officiate.

Memory Jo, a graduate of Byrd High School and Centenary College, married James Taylor Adams in 1946. She was a housewife until her children were grown, and then helped her husband own and operate the Adams Real Estate Institute.

A lover of beautiful things of nature, Memory was a gifted gardener, a talented artist, and a creative soul. A lover of her family, she was a devoted mother, and led them by her example. It would seem impossible to have lived 89 years without argument, scorning or thinking of herself, but that she did. Totally unselfish, always thinking of others, and never complaining, she was a lover of life, lover of her children, and absolutely devoted to her husband.

Never did she ever utter one angry word, enter into any quarrel, or demand anything for herself. God created her in His own image. Once in a lifetime- God created this one. Now she is with him forever. How fortunate is God, and how fortunate is she to be with Him.

Memory was a faithful member of the Maida Mickle Sunday School Class and the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, James Taylor Adams, two sons, Robert Roy Adams, II and his wife, Wilma Grace Beaird, of Carrollton, Texas, James Wallace Adams and his wife, Nancy Lynn Greene Adams, of Flower Mound, Texas, and two daughters, Janelle Adams of Shreveport and Carol Susan Adams Butts and her husband James E. Butts of Shreveport, La. Also left to enjoy her memory are two grandsons, Robert Scott Adams and his wife, Cheyenne Weekes Adams of The Colony, Texas, and James Adams Lamb stationed in the army in Kuwait, two granddaughters, Martha Clair Adams now attending Baylor University, and Kathleen Marie Adams of Flower Mound, Texas, and twin great grandsons, Liam Scott Adams and Duncan Taylor Adams of The Colony, Texas.

Pallbearers will be David Bellew, James E. Butts, Charles Henington, Jr., Tom Alford, Benjamin Dowis, and GaryDonovan.

Think of one who was quiet, humble, patient, and every complimentary adjective without end, and you would be thinking of Memory Jo.
