Born November 16, 1921 in Laurens, SC, she was the daughter of the late Erskine Todd Babb and Nannie Bramlett Babb. She met her husband, George Norman Bryan, Sr. at Presbyterian College. Following college, he joined the Army and went off to World War II. After the war, they lived in Columbia, SC, where their 2 children, Caroline and George were born. They moved to Sanford, NC in 1956. Caroline lost her husband in 1959. She was a school teacher in Sanford and retired in 1994.
