Many confuse Frank with his 1/2 sibling Vernon who was born in Nevada in 1861.

Frank's mom, Mary Elsie Clanton, is the sister of Ike and Billy Clanton of the Clanton Gang who were famous for their presence at the shootout at the OK Corral with Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday.

Frank was the firstborn child, born 10 months after his parents, Mary Elsie CLANTON & Andrew Jackson SLINKARD, married in March 1872 in Santa Barbara, CA, USA.

He died in the Veteran's Hospital of tuberculosis.

Frank enlisted in the military in San Carlos, Arizona on 31 Jul 1899. He was stationed in the Philippines and was discharged there due to health reasons on 27 Feb 1901.
He returned to Kingston, Sierra County, New Mexico after his discharge, as his mom, who was remarried to Even Stanley lived there or in Las Polamas, Sierra County, New Mexico at the time and also his brother Burt lived there.
It was while in Sierra County, NM he met and married Ida Pague who lived in Lake Valley, Sierra County, New Mexico. They married in Hillsboro, Sierra County, New Mexico on 26 May 1902. Ida Pague is the daughter of Percival Pague and Margaret Cornile Rouse.
By 1903, Frank and wife Ida are relocating to Douglas, Arizona. It appears Frank went back and forth between Hillsboro, New Mexico and Arizona quite often, as he is found in numerous newspaper articles.
At this time, it is not known when or where Frank's wife Ida died. On Franks death certificate he is listed as a widower.
