Alvin E. Williams went to be with the Lord the morning of Jan. 16, 2013. His was a peaceful passing.

Al was born June 25, 1916, in Cleveland, Ohio. During his years in high school, he enjoyed gymnastics and was the Ohio State Wrestling Champ in his weight class. He graduated from Garfield Heights High School, class of 1935.

During those younger years, he became interested in amateur radio and photography. He was an avid camper and fisherman; he enjoyed hunting, bowling, and roller skate dancing. At age 53, he earned a private pilot's license, flying single engine aircraft until he retired.

Al was a tool and die maker, beginning his career in Ohio. He moved his family to California in the late 1950s working there until retiring from the trade after 47 years. He became a resident of Lake Havasu in 1980, volunteering much of his time to the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Al was pleased to help out wherever he was needed, from reupholstering furniture to setting up a computer system.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose for over 40 years, past Governor and past Administrator of the Lake Havasu Moose Lodge #2263. In May 1991, he received the Moose International's highest honor, the degree of Pilgrim.

For 60 years, he was the beloved husband of, and is survived by, Wanda F. (Gregorek) Williams. He has five children: Alvin Walter, of La Canada, Calif.; Loretta May, of Rancho Cucamunga, Calif.; David Lloyd, of Lake Havasu City; Robert James, of Parkfield, Calif.; and Richard Alan, of Bellflower, Calif.; grandfather of 10; great-grandfather of 14; great-great-grandfather of six. Alvin has one surviving brother, Daniel Eugene, of Sagamore Hills, Ohio.

Al's wishes are that there would be no services to take place.

Thoughts and condolences can be sent to Al's family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com.

Arrangements were placed under the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory
