Born in Oaks, North Dakota, Helen lived on their farm with her nine sisters and two brothers. She has one remaining sister, Barbara Egner who resides in California.
She is proceeded in death by her parents John and Lidia Perlenfein, her sisters Vivian Nelson, Grace Ackers, Ethyl Wetzstein, Peggy Nelson, Joy Nelson, Diana Gould, Bonnie Edwards, Margie Gustafson and her two brothers Billy and Lloyd Perlenfein.
She is also proceeded by her one true loving husband Clarence Christl whom she met while working at Armor Packing Company in West Fargo, North Dakota. They married on Nov. 25, 1946 (61 years).
The family moved to California in 1953. Helen worked for Hughes Helicopter as a supervisor from 1965-1990 and retired in Lake Havasu City in December 1991.
Helen leaves behind her children, James Christl (Cherry Christl), and Debora Stebbins (Vic Stebbins) of Lake Havasu, her five grandchildren: Christie Christyl (Florida), James Christyl Jr (Tennessee), Angela Schoepke (Wisconsin), Rebecca Grabner (Lake Havasu City), and Kevin Stebbins (California). She also leaves behind 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Helen had a strong passion and love for music. Playing the guitar, organ and piano were self-taught. She sang with her sisters and her grandchildren. She especially loved country music.
Helen's life was dedicated to God and her family. She was deeply loved, cherished, and will be dearly missed by all.
Funeral service/viewing is on Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, 10 a.m. at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home, 21 Riviera Blvd, Lake Havasu City, AZ. Burial at The Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens, 1698 Deer Run Drive.
