Louweene James, age 76, of Portland, Fla., passed away Feb. 19, 2008.

She was born on Jan. 4, 1932, in Moultrie, Ga., to George and Eure Mason Eberhardt. Mrs. James was a resident of Portland. She was Methodist by faith. She enjoyed building; she built her own house and barn. She enjoyed fishing and driving race cars, having driven in the Powder Puff Derby. She worked in a factory making some of the first air condition condensers, being the first female union representative. She was always willing to help others.

Mrs. James was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Art Nicometo, Joseph Colman and Lorris James; and two sisters, Margaret and Dimp.

Mrs. James is survived by her two sons, Rocky T. Coleman and wife Wanda of New Holland, Pa., and Al Austin and wife Theresa of Crestview, Fla.; one daughter, Judy Caswell of Freeport, Fla.; two brothers, Eric Eberhardt of North Carolina, and George E. Eberhardt of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one sister, Venita Sawyer of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special nephew, Brian Eberhardt; nieces, nephews, friends and stepchildren.
Visitation services will be conducted from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home, 150 East Highway 20, Free-port.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Jim White offici-ating. Burial will follow in the Black Oak Cemetery.

Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
