Linda Arthur, 69, of Greenville, OH, passed surrounded by her family and friends Friday, January 20th, 2023, at St. Vincent's Heart Center in Indianapolis, IN due to complications following an intense surgery. She was born in Winchester, IN on December 5, 1953, to the late Basil and Beulah (Reynolds) Arthur.

Linda was faced with a deteriorating heart and agreed to go through a very serious procedure in an attempt to extend her life. Her choices were to take that chance or go home and slowly slip away. She chose to fight for more time, and she did it for her friends and family. She survived the procedure, but as the days passed, her body was overcome. She passed peacefully and without pain.

Linda was a force, loving, creative, generous, funny, hardworking and generally unstoppable. She was the best gift-giver in the universe, always surprising everyone with her thoughtfulness. She always made people feel comfortable and cared for, making her presence a gift in itself.

She graduated from Randolph Southern High School, and went on to work for Hook's Pharmacy, and then CVS Pharmacy for most of her career. At present, she served as the Secretary for the Women's Auxiliary at the American Legion and the Canteen Manager at the Greenville VFW.

She is survived by her niece Christina (Ricardo) Lerma and great nephew Ozzy Lee Lerma of New Castle, IN, her niece Jennifer Gibson of Bloomington, IN, her uncle Noel Arthur of Richmond, IN, as well as many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her sister, Susan Gibson.

A celebration of life in her honor will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 3:00pm at the American Legion in Greenville, OH at 325 N Ohio St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) here: https://secure.dav.org/donate. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.zecharbailey.com for the Arthur family.
