Robert Harrison "Harry" Brown, 70, died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roy Heckathorne, Bully Hill, at 2 pm Friday of a heart attack. He was born in Tioga County, OH, April 21, 1872.
He came to this area when a boy, followed the oil business most of his adult life, and drilled wells in the Venango and Bradford areas. He lived in Bradford for 7 years. He was well known and held in high esteem, was a member of Venango Lodge 255, IOOF, and of Congress Hill Church of God.
Surviving are children, Mrs. L. R. Knox, Bradford, Mrs. J. T. Dion, New York City, Charles H. Brown and Mrs. Roy N. Heckathorne, Franklin RD 1, Mrs. A. W. Graham, Nederland, TX, and Harry Brown of Scranton; 23 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, W. O. Brown, Miles P. Brown and James W. Brown of Franklin, Daniel brown of Bradford, and Mrs. George A. Ditzenberger of Congress Hill. His wife died in 1937.
Services will be at 2:30 pm Tuesday with Rev. Harry Slagle, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Twin Church Cemetery.
