Lynn "Tuffy" Brooks, 81, of Marvell passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 in Little Rock. Mr. Brooks was born January 18, 1927 in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas to the late Mark Brooks and the late Dartha Ellen Bryant Brooks. He attended the First Baptist Church of Marvell.
He is survived by his wife, Inez Duffel Brooks of Marvell; 2 daughters, Lynda Bailey and husband, John, of Rosebud and Ellen Stokes and husband, Boyce, of Holly Grove; 2 sons, Lance Brooks of Woodlawn and Greg Brooks and wife, Rita, of Lexa; a sister, Gracie Castleberry of DeValls Bluff; a brother, Eugin Brooks of Middletown, Ohio; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Brooks; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Services for Lynn "Tuffy" Brooks will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at Roller-Citizens. Burial will be at Turner Cemetery in Turner, Arkansas. Brother Gerald Jackson will officiate.
Pallbearers are Richard Brewer, Trey Taylor, Lane Brooks, Adam Fontenot, Shawn Darby and Bo Stokes. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Duffel, Logan Brewer and Brooks Castleberry.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Marvell, PO Box 838, Marvell, Arkansas 72366 or to the Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, 4301 West Markham Street, Slot 816, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205-9985.
