NEWPORT NEWS - Mary Louise Ellis Parr, 72, died Sunday, July 26, 1998. A lifelong Newport News resident, she had worked for over 15 years for Great Atlantic Realty before becoming ill.

Mrs. Parr is survived by her children, Nathan "Sonny" Parr of Newport News, Jacob "Butch" Parr of North Carolina, and Virginia Putt and Irma Rogers, both of Newport News; a sister, Pearl Smith of Newport News; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, in Parklawn Memorial Park by the Rev. Samuel E. Hyde. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
