Marjorie Vee Grimes passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at home. She was born on January 1, 1935 in Pilot Grove, Texas to Roy and Vee Neathery. She was married to Corbett Wade Grimes on March 5, 1965 and lived in Grand Prairie until the time of her death.
Marjorie was a member of Freetown Road Church of Christ in Grand Prairie for many years. She worked in the accounting profession but her greatest work was spending time with her two daughters and three grandchildren since losing her husband in February 1994.
Survivors include her daughters, Jana Gaye McCann & husband John of Round Rock and Gena Kaye Grimes of Grand Prairie and son Ben Lee and wife Audra of Wichita Kansas. Grandchildren, Michael Wade McCann, Victoria Lee McCann & Nicole Lee McCann of Round Rock. Brother: Jack & Ethel Neathery of Klondike; Sisters: June & Ken Washburn of Pottsboro; Jane & John Bearden of Ravenna; Brynda Clay of Grand Prairie; Lydna & Jim Knorpp of Ft. Worth; sister-in-law Lois Neathery of Granbury; Joe Robinson of Denison.
She was preceded in death by her husband Corbett Wade Grimes. Brothers Maurice Neathery of Dallas; Robert Byron Neathery & wife Charlene of Sherman. Sisters: Anna Robinson of Denison; Mattie Louise Heed & husband Ray of Dallas.
A memorial gathering for Marjorie will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Pilot Grove Cemetery, FM 121, Whitewright, Texas.
