Richard Bowen Dyer, Jr., age 43 of Brownsville, Texas, was carried home to heaven in the loving arms of Jesus on January 16, 2023.

Richard was born May 7, 1979 in Austin, Texas to parents Gayle Bernice (Leatherman) and Richard Bowen Dyer, Sr. He graduated from Coleman High School in 1998.

To know Richard was to love him. He had a passion for cooking and found immense joy in making others laugh. He loved his family dearly. His wife was his one, true love and his son was the light of his life. He was an amazing husband, father, son, uncle, cousin, and friend.

He touched the lives of so many people. He was a gentle soul with a heart of gold. He will truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.

Richard is survived by his wife, Lisa Dyer of Coleman County, Texas, dad, Richard Bowen Dyer, Sr. of Brownsville, Texas, son, Gunner Ian Dyer of Brownsville, Texas,, in addition to beloved half-siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gayle Dyer, maternal grandparents Maudie Neal (Dodd) and Claude Clayton Leatherman, paternal grandparents, Nina Ruth (Schuemack) and Wilson Dyer.
