Samuel A. Heylmun
LOCK HAVEN—Samuel A. Heylmun, 94, father of Mrs. Wilson P. Poorman, of Lock haven, died Wednesday, May 9, 1973, at 1:05 p.m. in Sycamore Manor, Lycoming County, following a long illness.
He was a native of Marsh Hill in Lycoming County, and a retired engineer of the New York Central Railroad. He had been recognized as a 50-year member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers at the time of his retirement in 1941.
Mr. Heylmun was a charter and 50-year member of the John F. Laedlein Lodge, F. and A.M., also a member of the Williamsport Consistory, Irem Temple Shrine, Wilkes-Barre, and the Williamsport Shrine Club.
Surviving with Mrs. Poorman were two other daughters, Mrs. Mabel H. Solt, Williamsport; and Mrs. Alice H. Gordner, Hughesville; a sister, Mrs. Verda Colley, of Montoursville RD 2; a brother, Stanley, of Marsh Hill; Four grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
His funeral was held in Williamsport with the Reverend Oscar W. Saxe, pastor of Christ's United Methodist Church in Hughesville, officiating.
