Our precious gift from God, Matthew Scott Turner, 41, of Rocky Point left his earthly life on Friday, January 20, 2023 to return to Heaven. He was born December 15, 1981 in Wilmington the son of Henry Joseph Turner and Pamela Warfle Anderson.
Matthew is survived by his loving family: his wife of 14 years, Amanda Turner; children, Liam Turner, Grayson Turner, and Nehemiah Turner; mother, Pamela Anderson and her husband, Vincent; father, Joey Turner and his wife, Julie; brothers, Ricky Turner and Isaac Turner (Sarah); step-siblings, Tonia Watkins (David), Sam Aman (Susan), Justin Aman (Rebeka), and Stephen Aman; grandmothers, Evelyn Walton and Reba Anderson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends, all who loved Matthew. Matthew was preceded in death by his brother, Roman Turner. Not to be forgotten is Matthew's constant canine companion, Bella.
Matthew was a professional truck driver, working with Ezzell Trucking. Prior to his truck driving career, Matthew was electronics manager at WalMart. Matthew was very tech savvy with computers, TVs, and anything that needed fixing. If it was not working Matthew could figure out how to make it work.
Prior to Matthew's illness he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Following his diagnosis of cancer Matthew took up golf, a less strenuous enjoyment. Matthew had a giving and sharing spirit as he was always willing to help others. Matthew's passing leaves an empty place in our family circle and especially in our hearts.
Burial will follow in Redick Cemetery.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Mark Woodcock at UNC-Chapel Hill, and staffs of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare and Novant Health Zimmer Cancer Institute for the excellent care given to Matthew.
