Mr. Franklin Eugene Shrader, age 78, 208 South 2nd St., Lockhart, widower of Lillian Beheler Shrader, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 at his home.
Mr. Shrader was born November 2, 1944 in Union, a son of the late William Paul Shrader and Mary Jane Childers Shrader. He was retired from Sonoco as a Mechanic and Supervisor. Mr. Shrader was a Veteran of the United States Army and the South Carolina National Guard having served in Panama during the Vietnam War. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Burgess, Jr. and wife Michelle of Ottaray and Ray Burgess and wife Monique of Union; two daughters, Betty Jean "Jeanie" Belue (Bo) of Lockhart and Sherri Johnson (Paul Watts) of Union; eight grandchildren, Sara Wright and husband Adam, DJ Long and wife Joni, Raymond Burgess Jr. and wife Tara, Jamie Burgess and wife Christina, Heath Burgess, Dustin Rakestraw and Brittany, Jennifer Cleary and Kacie Watts; several great-grandchildren; a brother, James Shrader of Lockhart; a sister, Martha Canupp of Bullock Creek; an aunt, Jane Sealy of Rock Hill; and several nieces and nephews, including two special great-great nieces, Oaklyn Robertson and Olivia Robertson. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Mack Johnson; a granddaughter, Jessica Burgess; and three brothers, Paul Shrader, JC Shrader, and Earl Shrader.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 23, 2023 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Gonzalee Childers and Rev. Donald Childers. Burial will follow at Lockhart Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be DJ Long, Ray Burgess, Heath Burgess, Blyth Long, Steve Beheler, and Colby Parker.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 2:00 PM Monday prior to the services at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
