Doris J. Bailey, age 87, of New Paris, Ohio, died February 23, 2008 at home with family after a year of convalescing from a stroke. She was born April 20, 1920 to the late Ira and Kate (Wisener) Marshall. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1938 and married her late husband Earl L. Bailey, Sr. the same year. She and her husband owned and operated "Bailey's General Store" in West Florence, OH for 20 years. The store was the "gathering spot" for much of the Jackson and Dixon Township community. Her family wishes to express their thanks to all those previous customers/friends for their loyalty over the years and for the many wonderful memories. Doris enjoyed working crossword puzzles, taking cruises, her yearly luncheons with her fellow high school graduates, her yearly trips with her sisters, and an occasional trip to a casino. She is also preceded in death by three brothers: Dick, Paul and Jim Marhsall; four sisters: Mrs. Jack (Ruth) Reeves, Mrs. James( Dorothy) Eberhart, Miss Norma and Miss Phyllis Marshall; and one infant grandson Kirk Bailey.
She is survived by two sons: Earl "Pete" Bailey of Florida and John Bailey of New Paris; one daughter and son-in-law: Jane and Jay Benham; three grandchildren: Steve Bailey and Laura Bailey both of New Paris, and Gina Bailey (husband Simplicio Paragas) of Hawaii; two great grandchildren: Kacey Pence of New Paris, and Eric Johnson of WA.; three sisters: Mrs. Lawrence (Lois) Buedel, Mrs. Ronald (Sue) Hendrickson of Miamisburg, OH., and Mrs. Donald (Janice) Dininger of Lexington, TN.
Burial will be in the Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton, OH.
