Eugene "Gene" Joseph Ringling, 84, of Clarksville, MO, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at his home. Cremation rites are being provided by Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO. No services are scheduled at this time.

Eugene "Gene" Joseph Ringling went peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO was in charge of local arrangements

He was born June 12, 1938 in St. Louis to the late Charles and Margaret G. Schleper Ringling.
He married the love of his life, Donna Milne Ringling on November 26, 1960; she preceded him in death on December 15, 2019.

He is survived by their loving children: Christine (Ken) Allen of Troy, MO; Jeannine (Dave) Gleason of Wabash, IN; Maureen (Danny) Jovanovic and Katie Hudson of Troy; and Donald Ringling of Bowling Green; 10 grandchildren: Arthur (Jessie) Brandt, Angela Brandt, Alex (Amanda Lindemann) Brandt, Lorine (Donny) Franzen, David (Cinthia Fernandez Garcia) Gleason, Julie Gleason, Nicholas Thrasher, James (Mackenzie Cranston) Thrasher, Emily Hudson and Cody Hudson; 8 great-grandchildren: Johnathan Brandt, Leona Franzen, Tania and Aaron Aviles, Gavin Thrasher, Ayden & Mikah Turner and Tanner Thrasher.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Marie (Frank) Krisch, Helen (Robert) Steahle, and his brother, Charles Ringling. He will be missed by many family members and friends.

Gene worked at multiple companies in the paper industry including: Hoerner Waldorf, Westvaco, Champion, Stone Container, and he retired from the Ferguson-Florissant School District where he was a Safety & Quality Specialist. He valued his family and loved camping, playing cards, boating and traveling with them. He especially loved Blues Special Hockey and live jazz (especially the band Cornet Chop Suey). Gene was known for his sense of humor and always had a story at the ready for anyone who would listen.

A memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, March 13, 2023 at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta (formerly Saints John and James), 120 N Elizabeth Ave, Ferguson, MO 63135 with lunch following in the hall.
