An old settler, Georg Wilhelm Engelter, died near Heidelberg on March 14. He was born in 1829 in Koenig, Hesse-Darmstadt, came to Canada with his parents in 1833 and has lived since then in the same place near Heidelberg. In 1859, he married Catharina Schneider of Wilmot Township and from this marriage, two sons and six daughters were borne. In religion, he was a member of the Protestant fellowship, and in political matters, he always supported the Reform Party. In his entire life, he always enjoyed the respect and love of his friends and acquaintances. For three years, he was sickly, due to his increasing age and since the middle of January, he was so sickly that he was forced to remain in bed.
