Kathryn Marie Kimbell, 74, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at her son's residence in Pinehurst, N.C., after a brief illness.
Graveside service: 10:30 a.m. Monday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane A, in Dallas. Visitation: The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst.
She was born Feb. 13, 1934, in Fort Worth to the late Earl C. and Millie Blair Klein. A homemaker, she was the wife of the late John Preston Kimbell. Kathryn and her husband came from very humble beginnings, but their work ethic and self-sacrifice provided every opportunity for their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed arts, crafts and reading.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Alan Kimbell.
Survivors: Son, John Michael Kimbell and his wife, Sherry, of Pinehurst, N.C.; daughter, Gloria Samantha Linthicum and her husband, Jody, of San Angelo; daughter-in-law, Susan Kimbell of Arlington; brother, James Klein and his wife, Evelyn, of Springtown; sister, Ruth Courson and her husband, Max, of Hurst; and grandchildren, Georgia Kimbell, Lucy Kimbell and Caroline Kimbell, all of Pinehurst, N.C., and Tiffany Bunch and Brandon Moss of Texas.
