Born in the little town of Clymer Indiana Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Claire and Jennie Kinter. She was one of seven children, five sisters and one brother.
She married Charles Troup in 1965 Their son Jeffrey Troup (Linda), survives her after that marriage ended, she moved to Columbus, Ohio where she met her late husband of 33 years Kenneth Amick Sr . They moved to Pike County Kentucky where she would raise their two children, Kenneth Jr. and Tonya Amick, who also survive her.
In 1994 they moved to South Carolina with her daughter to reside with her son and grandchildren. She was a hard worker all her life retired from the Dry Cleaning business. She was well known as "The Laundry Queen." Betty was a Christian in her faith and attended New Life Foundation church for about 20 years. She was a two time cancer survivor and never complained. She wore a smile all the time. In her spare time she loved to shop and spend time with her beloved family.
Granny Betty was loved by so many and touched a lot of lives in her time. She was a giver and servant to people and helped anyone that asked. She never said no to anyone if they were in need. She would always help. Granny Betty kept many kids in her home over the years that were not her own. All the kids loved Granny Betty. She was just pure peace and to know her was to love her.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Kenneth C. Amick Sr. She is survived by one son Kenneth Amick Jr. wife (Delia) one daughter Tanya Amick (Russell), three grandchildren Kendriana, Kendall and Kenley Amick, four great-grandchildren Axel and Blayze Amick and Kyleigh and Chasity Culbertson as well as Nanny to Shaynie and Lilyana Clark.
