Charlie James Cantrell, 93, of Burlington passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at White Oak Manor.

A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late "Brownie" Era Cantrell and the son of Van Story Cantrell and Della Ingle Cantrell, both deceased.

Charlie is survived by his children, Dianne Meeks (her late husband George), Richard and Debbie Cantrell, Debbie Joyce (her late husband Mike), Kenneth and Karen Cantrell, Donna and Lawrence Buchanan, Phillip and Donice Cantrell, Carol Cantrell, Charles and Robin Cantrell, and Denise and Kent Shotwell; and numerous grandkids, great grandkids; and great great grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, several grandchildren, and sons-in-law.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff for the care that he received while at White Oak Manor and to Authora Care Hospice for the care he received in the last few months.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor Darrell Massey with the family receiving friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery.
