Carrie Grace Ramsey, who turned 18 in early March, was killed when her white Ford F-150 was struck by a log truck on State Road 19

She was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka. Carrie was a senior at Palatka High School, where she was a member of Key Club, a freshman year member of the swim team, and had been recognized as Top Cat. Despite having dyslexia and attention deficit disorder, Carrie would have graduated with honors this year. She also shared her love for others through her participation in the Youth Able Trust Fund, an organization which assists individuals with disabilities. She was also a licensed lifeguard. Carrie dreamed of being a flight nurse and had recently received funding to begin her training and education. She enjoyed music, Western Pleasure horseback riding, tinkering with trucks, writing poetry and journals and rescuing mud-bogging victims. Carrie loved her new pit bull puppy, Rebel.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Carol Juanita Duck Rightmire ; and her paternal grandfather, Clifton E. Ramsey.
