Born in Hickox, GA. his parents were Plen Crews and Irene Hickox Crews. He Was also preceded in death by a son, Franklin Crews; a brother, Kermit Crews; a sister, Barbara Arnold.
Gary worked for OREMC as a mechanic and attended Hickox Baptist Church. He loved Nascar, drag racing, animals and especially his dog, Katie. He loved spending time with his family and was always willing to help other people at any time.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Marlene Bennett Crews of Nahunta; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Lamar Crews (Pam) of Screven; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda Mason (Mike) of Valdosta, Scarlett Cowart (Jack) of Hoboken, Sherree Knox (Timmy) of Waynesville; 11 grandchildren, Brandon Crews, Andrew Tanner, Eric Crews, Christina Crews, Jared Morrow, Jada Mason, Dara Mason, Lana Mason, Kyler Knox, Kasen Knox, and Chelsea Crews; 9 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Ben Crews (Jill) of Mooresville, NC., Tim Crews of Waycross; a sister, Kathy Warren of Nahunta; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday (January 13, 2023) at 11AM at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Jake Baum officiating.
