William Ray Carr Sr., 85, 1009 E. Eleventh St., died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1000 E. Eleventh St. The burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Carr was a native of Wayne County and was the son of John Spicer Carr, Sr. and Hattie Mae Cogdell Carr. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many capacities.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Carr was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Everette Jinnette Carr; two brothers, Livius Marion and Pete Carr and Edward Glenn Carr; sister, Louise Carr Ingram; and a grandson, Stephen Mark Carr.

The family will receive friends at the church during the hour prior to the funeral on Thursday, and other times at the residence.
