The funeral for Jeanette T. Gates will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco, Iowa. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery, rural Cresco.

Mrs. Gates, 87, of Cresco, died Tuesday (Feb. 19, 2008) at the Regional Health Services of Howard County in Cresco.

Jeanette Thelma Anderson was born March 27, 1920, in Hesper Township, Winneshiek County, Iowa. On Nov. 10, 1937, she married Donald O. Gates in Decorah, Iowa. For 63 years she worked with her husband on their farm in Fremont Township, Winneshiek County. The couple moved to Cresco in retirement. They were members of the Fremont Lutheran Church near Kendallville, Iowa, and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, and an hour before the service Thursday at the church.
