Born February 24, 1917 in Twin Branch, she was the daughter of the late Green Lee and Ethel Moore Koger. She attended New River State College and West Virginia Tech. She was a retired employee of Keystone Bank and a former stenographer with Appalachian Power Company. Dora was a member of the Greenview United Methodist Church and a member of Circle No. 1 and United Methodist Women.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Frederick M. Sackett Sr.; two sons, Frederick M. Sackett Jr. and Lt. David Lee Sackett; two sisters, Ruth Darby and Ruby Cox; and two brothers, Charlie Koger and General R. Koger preceded her in death.
Survivors include special friend and caregiver, Priscilla G. Cecil of Bluewell; Jack D. Bader; and one brother, Leonard R. Koger of Kimball.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Monte Vista Park Cemetery in Green Valley with the Rev. Randy Adkins officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon to the service hour on Saturday.
