He filed his Will June 3, 1826, it was probated on July 4, 1826. Abstract of the will of Daniel Axtell, of Sandy Creek tp., Mercer Co., Pa. "Wife Ruth to have all the privileges named in the article of agreement between myself and John Robb respecting our maintenance during our natural lives; to Ruth all personal goods except the clock, which is to go to son Lincoln; property to be equally divided among my children, Lincoln my oldest son excepted. I appoint Joseph Axtell and John Robb my lawful executor. Dated 3 day of June, 1826, in the presence of John L. Stright, Joseph Williams, David Condit."
He was a "Minute Man" in the Revolution and took part in the battle of Trenton (PA. Archives). He was one of the organizers of the Fairfield Presbyterian Church, organized in 1799.
