Mrs. Mamie L. Lee was born February 2, 1922 in Bassfield, Mississippi. She was the second child born to the union of Gussie Martin and Addie Magee Martin.
Mrs. Lee attended school in Bassfield, Mississippi. She united in marriage to Thomas Lee in 1950. Mrs. Lee retired from Sunny Acres Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio in 1988. She moved to Mississippi in 1988 where she became a Senior Companion until her illness. Mrs. Lee was a soft spoken and kind-hearted lady.
She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Lee; her parents; two sisters, Rose Martin, Marie Harper; and one brother, Ernest Harper
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Eddie Ruth (Shellie) Calhoun, Gulfport, MS; one sister, Bernice Harper, Bassfield, MS; five grandchildren, Barbara Conley, Clinton (Kim) Calhoun, Lisa Washington, and Garland (Michelle) Calhoun all of Gulfport, MS, Ms. Sandra Calhoun, Jackson, MS; 12 great-grandchildren, 11great-great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m., Thursday, February 21, 2008, Faith MB Church, Gulfport where there will be a visitation one hour prior to services. Interment: Monroe Memorial Park, Gulfport, MS.
