Albert William Ady, 71, of Atlanta, passed away after a brief, but fierce battle with cancer on February 18, 2008 at his residence. He was born on March 10, 1936 to Albert and Mildred (Hume) Ady in Detroit, MI.

He married the former Shirley Wickenhiser on September 7, 1957. Al has lived in Atlanta since retiring from Seng Tire in Port Huron in 2001.

He served in the Army and was an excellent marksman. He remained an ardent patriot who held all veterans in his heart with great respect and honor.

He was a history buff, especially about family, WWII, and the Civil War.
He was a past member of the American Brittany Club. He enjoyed salmon and trout fishing, as well as hunting for grouse, deer, and pheasant.
He enjoyed horses when his girls were young. He also looked forward to the Lake Simco Perch Trip in the winter with the Atlanta guys and Mike. He was active with the National Wild Turkey Federation food plot program.

He loved making maple syrup every spring with Bud Klein. The sap usually starts running on his birthday.

Al is survived by his two daughters, Debbie (Dave) Wojtoviets of Atlanta, MI, Cheryl (Mike Bilsky) Ady of Lakeport, MI; grandchildren, Alaina, Jacob, and Steven; brother, Bob Ady of Olivia, MN; and sisters, Vivian Satre of Montevideo, MN, Donna (Willie) Grantom of El Dorado, AR, Gladys Eckers of Litchfield, MN, and Golda (Leonard) Brokke of Brainerd, MN.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley in 2002.

Funeral services for Mr Ady will be held on Friday, February 22, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, Rev Virginia Titus officiating.

Visitation hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

The family has suggested memorials to Hopsice of Michigan, Alpena, or to the American Brittaney Club.

Information provided from Al's Daughter:
Al was cremated. His ashes were scattered over his property, One Eyed Jack's Rod and Gun Club, Kate Adam's property, Lake Simcoe in Canada, and Bud Klein's property near his Sap Shack. These were places that had significance in his life, and I felt it was appropriate. He had not had time to give us instructions, so I had to go with what felt right. I have retained some ashes to be dropped from the Mackinaw Bridge, where my Mom's ashes were spread.
