It took place on Saturday, July 30, 1864. My 2nd great grandfather, William Johnson, wife Sarah Bowen, was dead several months before that date. On 15 Mar 1864 in Scott County, Virginia, an appraisal was recorded of the estate of William Johnson, deceased. The property listed totals $495. On the same date a Sale Bill of the personal property of William Johnson, deceased, was recorded in the will book. David Johnson was one of the buyers, and the widow Sarah Johnson was mentioned.
