Clyde L. "Fig" Newton, 78, of Pensacola, passed away on December 30th 2022. He was born in Pensacola on March 19th, 1944, to Clyde and Doris Newton. He graduated from Walton High School and entered the US Air Force where he proudly served as a Missile Guidance Tech. He was also a graduate of Florida State University, and worked as a Telecommunications Engineer for EDS, MCI, and AT&T. He was an avid golfer with several hole in ones to his credit, and he loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his Father, Clyde S. Newton, Mother Doris J Wright, Brother Dale Newton, Sister Veda Godfrey, and Cousin Randy Clinton. He is survived by his Son Matthew (Heather) Newton, Grandson Landon Newton, Granddaughter Morgan Newton, Sister Loyace Mauldin, Niece Kara (Mike) Kempf, Niece Renelle (Jim) Herndon, Niece Dawn Newton, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 11am on January 9th, 2023 at Faith Chapel North Funeral Home, 1000 S. Hwy 29, Cantonment, FL.
