Phoenix Ingraham, chief clerk of the Civil Court of the City of New York, died of a heart attack last Saturday at his home in Manhattan. He was 65 years old. Mr. Ingraham was appointed a law secretary in the court in 1966, and became chief clerk in 1974. He had previously practiced law in Manhattan. He attended Harvard University and Trinity College, and was a graduate of New York Law School. In World War II, he served with the Army. His father, Phoenix Ingraham, was a justice of State Supreme Court, and his grandfather, George L. Ingraham, was a justice of the First Appellate Division of State Supreme Court. He is survived by his wife, Juanita, of Palm Spings, Calif., and two daughters, Sandra Ross of Madrid and Brianne Petty of San Diego.
