Convict 987 - A mill engineer at Clune's Flour Mill, who was murdered by his son George while under the influence of rum.
Son of Samuel Taylor, James came to the colony per the "Seapark" 5 May 1854; married Elizabeth Wilhelmina, (widow "Weldon"), daughter of Ann Walsh and Thomas Keegan.
Elizabeth was one of the Irish 'needle women' who arrived on the Esmeralda in 1854 (Listed as Elizabeth Weldon, single)
Death Reg. # 10047/1878 - lists age as 50 years
