Otto George Albert Knott was the oldest of seven children born to William and Jennie (Mittlesdorf) Knott, who immigrated from Germany a few years prior to their son's birth.
In the 1900 census of Darien, Rock County, Wisconsin, "George O" was 13 years old, living with his parents and five siblings, and working as a laborer for the railroad.
1910 census. Not found for him, though his parents and three siblings are living in Bradford, Rock County, Wisconsin.
1916 Veterans' Index shows his enlistment in WWI, confirmed by his death certificate.
1918 WWI Draft registration form show "Albert" as a patient at St Elizabeth Hospital in Washington DC.
1920 & 1930 Census not found.
1940 Census, Otto Albert George Knott was a patient at Mendota State Hospital. Per the census, in 1935, he resided in Rock County, Wisconsin.
7 October 1940 Otto Albert George Knott died at the Hospital.
Per his death certificate, he was buried in Clinton, Wisconsin. His parents are buried in Mount Philips Cemetery so trying to verify that is the correct location and possibly find a headstone.
