Brenda was born on January 18th 1941 to Armanda & Jerry Lee Akins in Houston. After graduating from Kashmere High School in 1959, she went on to attend Praire View A&M for Nursing and studied Dental Assisting at Tarrant County College.
After graduating, Brenda landed her first job as a LVN Nurse for Memorial Hermann Hospital, which kicked off her career path in health care.
In the early 60s, she met Mark Taylor Jr., and they wed in 1964, going on to have three children, Shawn, Derrick, & Marcus.
After retiring in 2009, Brenda spent her time playing Suduko, Reading, and catching up on her favorite shows.
Brenda was predeceased by husband Mark Taylor Jr., parents Jerry Lee Akins and Armanda Akins, siblings Clyde Edwards Akins, Norma-Jean Akins, and Jerry Wayne Akins.
She is survived by her daughter Shawn Taylor-Smith, sons Derrick Taylor and Marcus Taylor and her 3 grandchildren Tori Taylor, Marc Taylor, and Mason Taylor.
