Carolina was known by her middle name Wilhelmina. Born at Glen Urquhart (near Hope Valley) to Michael Gottfried Kohl and Elisabetha Wilhelmina Ebert. In 1906 at the age of 16, Wilhelmina worked for the Howard family at Athelstone as a maid. On New Year's Day 1907 it was discovered that she was in a relationship with her employers' son, who was 14 at the time. Wilhelmina was dismissed and instead of going home she left a note and went into the Torrens River near Athelstone and drowned. Given this was ruled as a suicide there is no death certificate nor burial details. This memorial page is to honor her short life and connect her with her parents and siblings. RIP.
