Rev. Lewis Franklin "L.F." Hatchell, 86, of Monroe, NC, formerly of Lumberton, NC, passed away on December 27, 2022 at Atrium Health in Monroe, NC.
He was born on February 29, 1936 in Robeson County, NC.
L. F. served as an evangelist for many years throughout numerous churches in Lumberton, Gastonia, and Matthews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mattie Jane Huggins-Hatchell; his second wife, Betty Jane Cox-Hatchell; and his parents, Joseph Lewis "J.L" Hatchell, Jr. and Lunnie Mae Kinlaw-Hatchell.
L. F. is survived by his son, Terry L. Hatchell (B.J.) of Monroe, NC; his stepchildren, David Cox (Kathy) of Kiawah Island, SC and Diane Czaus (Stephen) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his grandchildren: Christopher Hatchell (Gina), Sydney Czaus, Luke Czaus, Matthew Cox (Allison), Kelly Poston (J.T.), and Kiristen Mims (Wil); his great-grandchildren: Hana, Gabrel, Anna, Clayton, Wyatt, and Brady; and his sister, Mary Frances Hatchell of Lumberton, NC.
The funeral services will be held in Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton, NC with Pastor Bruce Brumfield, Rev. Tim Lewis, and Rev. Doug Carpenter officiating. The burial services will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5190 N. Fayetteville Road, Lumberton, NC.
