From the Itasca, TX newspaper: W.H. Goodman Rites Are Held in Itasca Saturday....

Last rites for W.H. Goodman, 81, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.L. Taylor, in Dallas, Friday, Oct. 26 at 2:30 A.M.,were conducted at Sanford Funeral Chapel in Itasca Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

Officiating ministers were Rev. A.G. Standlee, pastor of the First Methodist Church in Itasca, and Rev. H.C. Henderson, of Dallas.

William Harrison Goodman was a native of Grimes County, Texas. He was born July 9, 1875, the son of John E.(corrected name Sep 2, 2011) Goodman and Anna Bell Goodman.

He had been engaged in farming and before his retirement several years ago, had resided in the Pluto community near Itasca.

Mr. Goodman was a member of the Brandon Ave. Methodist church of Dallas. He had been ill for eight weeks prior to his passing early last Friday.

Interment was in the Milford Cemetery under direction of Sanford Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Ottis Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, Joe Harrison, Tom Earnest, Joe Ellison, and Jim Ward.

Mr. Goodman was preceded in death by his beloved wife Florence Ward Goodman who he married in 1912. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs Norman Ruekle (Addis), of San Antonio, and Mrs. Gladys McKenna, and Mrs. J.L. Taylor (Beatrice) , both of Dallas; two sons, W.H. Goodman Jr., Condord, Calif., and James Edwin Goodman of Holbrook, Mass., both of whom are serving in the armed forces; one sister, Mrs. Robert(Annie) Chipley, of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
