Beatrice B. Boyd, age 90 of Cream Ridge, died Tuesday, February 19th at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly. Born in Vincentown, she was a resident of Cream Ridge since 1975 and had previously lived in Browns Mills for a short time.
Beatrice was an Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the Philippines and also was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Columbus.
Daughter of the late Arthur J. and Ella Brooks and sister of the late Virginia Kelly and Margaret "Peggy" Kofsky. She is survived by her husband, Aaron Boyd; two sons, James R. Johnson and wife Gretchen of Pittsburgh, PA and Philip Johnson of West Virginia; two sisters, Jeanne Rollings of Virginia and Barbara Reed and husband Jerrell of Vero Beach, FL; a brother, Arthur J. Brooks and wife Doris of Lumberton; five grandchildren; many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22 at 11:00 AM at TILGHMAN FUNERAL HOME, 52 Main Street in New Egypt www.tilghmanfh.com, with Pastor Chuck Shorter, officiating. Interment will be in the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. Calling hours will be on Friday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
