Dewayne Anderson was a lifelong resident of Copan, Oklahoma. Dewayne passed away on Saturday, 24th of December 2022. He was born southwest of the family farm in 1939. Dewayne is the son of Earnie and Mary (Tucker) Anderson. He grew up in Copan and attended Copan and graduated in 1957. Dewayne participated in football, baseball and was very active with the livestock and land judging team with the FFA Chapter in Copan.
He worked on the family dairy as a child and practiced the 4X4 rule. Milking was mandatory at 4am and 4pm every day. 1959 to 1966 ran his own dairy near Nowata. Starting in 1962 Dewayne worked at Reda Pump in Bartlesville until 1972 when his father was killed in the oilfield. Dewayne started full time in 1972 working for his mother Mary in the oilfield. Shortly there after Dewayne and his three brothers Doug, Damon (Chub) and David Anderson worked in the oilfield forming the Four A Oil Company until his death.
Dewayne spent his early years after high school bull riding and bronc riding. He then moved into stock car racing where he raced at Dewey, Muskogee, Caney and Ft. Smith Arkansas. He won many races and was high points leader and track champion at multiple tracks.
Dewayne raised cattle his entire life until the last couple years. He was a supporter of the Copan FFA and served multiple years on the Copan Volunteer Fire Department and Chief for a couple years. He was a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
