PEORIA - Roberta Webb Ausfahl, 82, of Peoria died at 6:07 p.m.
Thursday,
Feb. 14, 2008, at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria.

She was born Sept. 16, 1925, in Ashley, Ill., to Dr. Lester I. and
Marie
Dollins Webb. She married Richard Joseph "Dick" Ausfahl on Feb. 5,
1950, in
Harrisburg, Ill. He died June 3, 1999, in Peoria.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Gerald I. Webb; and one
sister, Barbara Elvin.

Surviving are three sons, Richard Joseph Ausfahl III of Fayetteville,
Tenn.,
Dr. James Douglas (Carol) Ausfahl of Peoria and Jeffrey Scott (Jan)
Ausfahl
of Teaneck, N.J.; two grandsons, Joshua David (Heidi) Ausfahl of
Richards
Bay, South Africa, and Philip Matthew (Charisa) Ausfahl of Washington,
Ill.;
and five great-grandchildren, Josiah, Ezra, Sierra, Corban and Ian.

Roberta received her Bachelor of Science degree in home economics
education
from the University of Illinois in 1947. She then taught at Ridgeway
Community High School in Ridgeway, Ill. She returned to the University
of
Illinois on a graduate fellowship in home management to work on her
master's
degree.

In 1960, her husband was job transferred to Glasgow, Scotland, and she
lived
there for five years. Upon returning to Peoria in 1965, she began
volunteering for the Docent Program at Lakeview Center for the Arts and
Sciences, later working as a puppeteer. Roberta served as chairman and
scheduling chairman for the Docent Program, also serving as chairman of
the
Lakeview Speakers Bureau. She also held offices and gave lessons in
Peoria
County Home Extension, including judging 4-H Room Improvement projects.

She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church in Peoria.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at the Wilton
Mortuary in
Peoria. The Rev. Dr. Randall Saxon will officiate. Visitation will be
from 4
to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at the mortuary. Burial will be in
Parkview
Cemetery in Peoria.
