Bertha Joann Boler, daughter of the late Curtis Smith and Narene Powell Smith, was born July 24, 1947, in Batesville, and died Feb. 4, 2004, in Mountain Home, at the age of 56 years.
She was married Oct. 2, 1964 in Salem, AR, to Gary Colin Boler.
She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses March 17, 1984.
Survivors include her husband, Colin, of the home near Mammoth Spring, AR; three sons, Gary Clinton Boler and wife, Carol; and Jonathan Eric Boler and wife, Rena, of Paragould, AR; and Matthew Colin Boler of Mammoth Spring, AR; eight grandchildren all of Paragould; one great-grandson of Paragould; her mother, Narene Parker of Ash Flat, AR; one sister, Linda Dispenza and husband, Bruno, of Malabar, FL; one half-brother, James Smith of Imboden, AR; one half-sister, Shirley Smith of Aurora, IL; one step-sister, Diane Tensley of Aurora, IL; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Smith; her step-father, Vershal Parker and a brother, Curtis Derral Smith.
The funeral was Feb. 7 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Dee Jackson officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc., of Thayer.
Pallbearers were Tony Ackerman, Jesse Brumbaugh, Issac Brumbaugh, Bob Taylor, Glen Blankenship and George Parsons.
