TAYLOR — Willard Raymond Burns, 71, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, surrounded by those who loved him.
A small get-together of of family and friends was held Sunday, April 6, at his home in Thrall.
Mr. Burns showed courage and compassion in his last days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Burns and Drucilla Cartwright, and a daughter, Gay Lynn Porter.
Survivors are a sister, Mary Ellen Johnson of North Carolina, and four daughters, Robin Shaw and husband Trey of Pflugerville, Rachael Stolte and husband Donald of Thrall, Renea Seggern and husband Clayton of Thrall and Charis Hendrick and husband Tommy of Ovilla; also, eight grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks that the monies that would have been spent be used to help someone in need.
