Donald G. Mason, 87, of Merriweather Farms in West Chester, PA and former resident of Kennett Square, PA, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008 at his home.
He was the husband of the late Anita Josephine Wallace Mason, who passed away in 1966 and with whom he shared 19 years of marriage and the late Amelia "Amy" Panetti Mason, who passed away in 2004 and with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late David P. and the late Pearl V. Carver Mason.
He served during WWII in the Army. He was Vice President from 1945 to 1985 of Mason Chevrolet and Bill Luke Chevrolet in Kennett Square. Donald was a former member of The Presbyterian Church of Kennett Square and the Kennett Square Optimist Club. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. in Kennett Square, PA, the Italian American Citizens League and the Kennett Square Golf and Country Club.
He is survived by 1 son, Donald D. Mason and his wife, Eileen P. of West Chester, PA; 2 step daughters, Victoria Dulin and her husband, James C. of West Chester, PA and Donna Marra and her husband, Lynne G. of Coatesville, PA; 3 grandsons, D. David Mason, Jr., Jamie V. Gentzsch, and Shane M. Sweeney; 1 granddaughter, Heidi Gentzsch; and by 2 great grandchildren, Savannah Mason and Zachary Mason.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home (610-444-4116), 250 W. State St., Kennett Square. Family and friends may call from 9-11 am on Saturday before the service. Interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square.
