Dona Mae Reszler was born on April 18, 1934 in Aberdeen South Dakota and passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home in Kent WA. She was raised in Aberdeen South Dakota and on March 18,1951, Dona was married to Maynard until his death in 2010. After they married Maynard was in the Army and was sent to Korea while Dona remained in Aberdeen South Dakota. In 1957 Maynard, Dona, and their girls relocated to the Seattle area, once here they decided to buy a home in the rural area of Kent where they lived until their death.

Dona worked for the Kent School District as a teacher's aid, librarian, and with head start students. She so enjoyed working with kids of all ages including the time she was the lunchroom aid at Kentridge High School. She assisted in many different schools, after school programs supporting the children, and loved reading to the children.

Dona's favorite things were spending time with her family, camping with family and friends, and working with her flowers. She always had beautiful flowers that she tended to in the Spring and Summer and in the fall/winter time she loved jigsaw puzzles. Other activities were playing Bunco at the church with friends, spending time with her grandkids, and watching the Mariners and Seahawks on television with family.

Dona was preceded in death by her mother (Pauline), her husband (Maynard), brothers (Peter and Melvin), and sister (Maxine). She is survived by her sisters Elizabeth Rush and Ramona Sitter of Aberdeen South Dakota, her brother Marvin Reszler also of Aberdeen South Dakota, her daughters Penny Ackerson of Kent and Nancy Konen of Kent, her son-in-law David Konen of Kent, grandchildren Matthew and Stephanie Konen of Kent.

She will be remembered as a loving, caring, and generous kind lady.

Kent United Methodist Church
Kent, WA
January 28, at 1:00 p.m.

Dona will be interred with her husband at Tahoma National Cemetery Monday January 30, 2023 at 2:15
