He was born August 4, 1938, in Hannibal, the son of the late Arthur and Mildred "Mary" (Noel) Treaster. He married Ruth Ann Runyan on January 24, 1964, in Hannibal. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2021.
Survivors include three children, Christina (Rev. Fred) Baker of Downing, Missouri, Rhonda (Joe) Scheiner of Paris, and Phillip Treaster of Paris; four grandchildren, Beth (David) Weylbrenner of Downing, Missouri, Lisa (Brian) Martin of Novinger, Missouri, Kayla Whiteman (Dave Pine) of Paris, and J. C. Treaster of Macon, Missouri; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald E. Treaster, Jr.; a grandson, A.J. Scheiner; a brother, Bob Treaster; and two sisters, Joyce Melton and Sugar Treaster.
Mr. Treaster was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a man of strong faith and an avid prayer warrior. Ron was talented at woodworking and enjoyed hunting with his sons. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.
For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Compassionate Food Pantry.
Services celebrating his life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Templeton Funeral Home with the Reverend Fred Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Edgar Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #211. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
