Maria was my brother Serafin's second wife. Maria had cancer. A beautiful, wonderful person. She will be so missed.

Maria Refugio Villegas (Cuca), a loving Wife, Mother, Grandma, Sister, and friend passed away on December 19th, 2022 in her home in Wasco, CA. She was born on July 4th, 1958 in Florencia, Zacatecas Mexico to Ignacio Villegas and Maria Guadalupe Villegas.
She married Serafin Ybarra in October of 2019 and they were happily married for 3 years. Cuca was a member of the Guadalupanos society and actively involved with the St. Johns Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, cooking, vacationing, and most of all, spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Cuca is survived by her husband, Serafin Ybarra; her children, Alejandro Garcia, Marlyn Garcia, Dorians Hernandez, Yesenia Mao, Nancy Jimenez,
and Alonzo Garcia; her siblings, Luz Lamas, Rita Correa, Ignacio Villegas, Sara Correa, Evalia Navarro, Gabriel Villegas, and Guadalupe Villegas. She also is
survived by 14 grandchildren.
Cuca was preceded in death by her first husband Amadeo Garcia, her parents Ignacio and Guadalupe Villegas and her sister Licha Covarubias.
A funeral service will be held at Basham & Lara Funeral Care 343 State Ave. Shafter, CA 93263 on January 4th, 2023.
A viewing will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM
with a rosary beginning at 6:30 PM.
A church service will be held at St. Johns Evangelist Catholic Church 1300 9th Pl, Wasco, CA 93280 on January 5th, 2023
at 10:00 AM, followed by the burial at the Wasco Cemetery 300 Leonard Ave, Wasco, CA 93280.
